Today's riddle: What do you call a belt that is made of watches? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. NOLS lockers will give patrons 24/7 access (sequimgazette.com) — Port Angeles library users will soon get 24/7 access to their holds through new outdoor lockers, with installation starting in Port Angeles after a contract was approved last week. The Port Angeles unit will sit on a new paved pad, feature custom artwork, and recognize the Friends group that helped fund it, giving residents a convenient pickup option even during closures.
2. Field Arts and Events Hall management: 'Beware of ticket resellers' (myclallamcounty.com) — If you're buying tickets for shows at Field Arts and Events Hall in downtown Port Angeles, management is urging you to avoid third‑party resale sites that are overcharging and sometimes duplicating seats. They recommend purchasing only through fieldhallevents.org or the on‑site box office at Front and Oak, warning that resold tickets can be invalid, overpriced, and beyond their ability to refund or fix.
3. New courthouse security measures begin Oct. 1 (myclallamcounty.com) — If you're heading to the Clallam County Courthouse in Port Angeles, be prepared for airport-style security screening starting today, Oct. 1. Everyone must pass through metal detectors at the main entrance, with bags scanned and weapons stored in outside lock boxes, so plan a few extra minutes for your visit.
4. Public questions Clallam County's comprehensive plan update (peninsuladailynews.com) — Clallam County's long-term comprehensive plan update, which directly affects the Port Angeles region's zoning, housing, and climate policies, drew nearly 20 speakers at a public hearing. Commissioners delayed a decision until Oct. 13 after residents raised concerns about housing affordability, short‑term rental rules, tribal input, and whether the new climate and land‑use rules truly reflect community priorities.
5. Couple plead guilty, sentenced for attack on DoorDash driver (peninsuladailynews.com) — A man and woman with ties to Port Angeles and Sequim have been sentenced in Clallam County Superior Court for a violent 2025 attack on a DoorDash driver who picked them up near Deer Park Road in Port Angeles. The driver, stabbed multiple times and left in Carlsborg, survived and supported the plea deal that sends the man to prison for over 19 years and the woman for five.
