2 More Coronavirus Deaths In Pierce County, 186 Cases Confirmed
Two more people have died of the coronavirus in Pierce County, bringing the counties death toll to four.

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — Health officials in Pierce County confirm two more people died due to the new coronavirus on Thursday. 32 more cases of the virus were also confirmed, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the county to 186.
The county has also launched a new interactive map so residents can track the confirmed coronavirus cases in their immediate area.
The Latest Cases
Both victims came from the Lakewood area. No other information about their identities has been released, but Wednesday's death was a man in his 70s from the Spanaway area. He passed away due to underlying health conditions complicated by the virus.

In total, the county says they've tested 3,515 residents for the virus, meaning just over 5 percent of tests taken have come back positive. Almost a third of confirmed cases are coming from the Tacoma area.

A New Online Tracking Tool
Following the release of a similar tool by King County, Pierce County is now updating an interactive map that allows residents to take a closer look at the coronovirus and how it is spreading through the county.
The map can be found here. It divides the county up into over a dozen geographic regions and reports the number of confirmed coronavirus cases and deaths in each region. The county says the map will be updated each day by 2 p.m. with all the cases they've received since midnight the previous day. In a tweet, the county says the online map was developed after getting feedback from residents who wanted more information on the virus' spread.
