2 Teens Injured Sledding Near Puyallup

Two 16-year-olds were sledding Sunday night near Puyallup when they were hit by a car, according to a report.

PUYALLUP, WA - Two 16-year-olds were injured - one seriously - when they were hit by an SUV while sledding Sunday night near Puyallup, according to the Tacoma News-Tribune.

The accident happened around 9 p.m. in an area between Summit and Puyallup near the intersection of 86th Avenue East and 116th Street East, according to the report. A man driving an SUV hit the two boys because he was unable to stop in time.

The driver tended to the injured boys before they were both taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. One was released with minor injuries, the other was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with more serious injuries.

Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, but weather conditions may have prevented the driver from being able to stop in time.
