ACA Rally at South Hill Mall
ACA Rally by Indivisible Puyallup at South Hill !all on 9/25
Senate Republicans were taking another stab at gutting the ACA with their latest version of TrumpCare--the Graham Cassidy Bill. The Graham-Cassidy bill would: End protections for pre-existing conditions, lead to more closings of rural hospitals, raise premiums on middle-class families, prevent veterans from access to affordable coverage, and end special education, both for kids with disabilities and kids designated as gifted.
Indivisible's whole national network showed up across the country from sea to shining sea on 9/25 to rally and say that it would hurt our friends, our families, and our country—and we'd remember this vote. Trump and the Senate Republicans were put on a tight deadline if they had any hope of passing TrumpCare, and Indivisible Puyallup joined up with other local resistance groups from Tacoma and Lake Tapps on Monday afternoon to do everything we could to stop them. To show our constituent power we held a rally, Kill the Bill (again!), at an intersection at South Hill Mall with two dozen attendees. Signs were held, we waved, and smiled. It was energizing, moral boosting, and fun! Now, Trumpcare is dead! Thanks to all the tireless work of patriotic Americans nationwide who rose up to fight to "Kill the Bill" with phone call, emails, tweets, faxes, die-ins and rallies.
