After Casino Bust, Puyallup Woman Pulls Off $30,000 Burglary: PD
She and her boyfriend lost it all at a local casino. So they decided to burglarize the home of someone they knew, according to police.

PUYALLUP, WA - Pierce County deputies and Puyallup police recently arrested a woman and her boyfriend after the couple allegedly burglarized the home of an acquaintance. Why did they burglarize someone they knew? The couple apparently lost all their money at a local casino.
The burglary happened Monday at a home along 116th Street East in the McMillin area. The homeowner reported that the burglars had stolen a gun safe, jewelry, and checks. As Pierce County deputies were investigating, a Puyallup officer reported that a woman had tried to cash a $1,500 check at a bank in that city - but fled when the bank refused.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff's office, a deputy on the department's crime suppression team got a tip that the burglary had been carried out by a boyfriend and girlfriend. Police passed on that information to the victim, who told them he knew the woman - she had stayed at his house as a teen.

Police began scouring the county for the two suspects. A deputy located the man driving in Tacoma with a gun safe in the back of his pickup truck. The man told police he went to the McMillin home to help his girlfriend pick up some property she had left at the house. At the same time, police located the woman at a trailer park off Milwaukee Avenue East in Puyallup.
After getting a search warrant, police recovered guns and jewelry from the boyfriend and girlfriend worth close to $30,000 between - including a single ring valued at $20,000. Police also recovered more than $1,000 in stolen prescription medicine.

The 35-year-old woman was arrested on multiple charges, including first-degree theft and unlawful possession of a firearm. The 42-year-old boyfriend was arrested on similar charges.
