Today's riddle: What did the wall say to the other wall. 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Family in Washington State searches for stolen Nintendo game collection (kyma.com) — A Puyallup family is reeling after returning home to find a decades-in-the-making Nintendo Entertainment System game collection, worth an estimated $50,000 to $100,000, stolen from their house. The owner says the loss feels like losing a family member, since the collection began with a childhood gift from his late mother and was meant to help future grandchildren.
2. Pierce County city ends animal control agreement to cut costs. Here's the plan (thenewstribune.com) — Puyallup's partner agency Metro Animal Services will no longer handle animal control for Milton starting September 1, after Milton ended its contract to save money. Metro, jointly operated by Sumner and Puyallup, will continue serving other nearby cities while Milton shifts enforcement to its own police department and contracts separately for shelter services.
3. Seattle TV news icon looking forward to serving alma mater (wsu.edu) — A former KOMO news anchor who moved to Puyallup in high school is now joining Washington State University's Board of Regents, aiming to strengthen the school's presence on the west side. She credits WSU's journalism program and hands-on broadcast training for launching her long Seattle TV career and is preparing for her new leadership role ahead of fall meetings.
4. Former serviceman sentenced in Maryland on charges of child exploitation (cbsnews.com) — A former U.S. serviceman has been sentenced to more than 15 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting a minor online while he was stationed in Puyallup. Investigators say he contacted the Maryland victim and other minors via Snapchat, prompting a Project Safe Childhood case led by federal authorities.
