1. You can take a bus to the fair in Puyallup this year (thenewstribune.com) — Pierce Transit is restoring express bus service to the Washington State Fair in Puyallup from Sept. 4–27, with frequent trips connecting Lakewood, SR-512 and South Hill to the Blue Gate. Riders under 18 travel free, adults pay regular fares, and several other Pierce Transit routes serving Puyallup commuters and nearby schools are getting timing tweaks starting Aug. 30.
   

2. Man dies after detonating explosive device as officers approach Sumner property (maryland.gov) — Puyallup police responded to a domestic violence report from a woman in the city Wednesday, then tracked the suspect to a property in nearby Sumner. After officers, a K-9 and a drone tried for about an hour to negotiate, the 46-year-old man detonated an explosive device as officers approached and died at the scene.
   

3. Support sought for local paramedic injured in motorcycle crash as his wife undergoes heart surgery (chronline.com) — A Thurston County paramedic injured in an Aug. 24 motorcycle crash is now recovering at Puyallup's Good Samaritan Hospital while his wife simultaneously faces major heart surgery. With both unable to work and caring for a 3-year-old, friends launched a GoFundMe to help cover medical bills, basic expenses, and childcare as the family navigates months of recovery.
   

4. In Re:141664-WA-Trustee Sale (tacomadailyindex.com) — A Pierce County trustee sale notice details an upcoming October 2 foreclosure auction for a Tacoma property, but lists a borrower and attorney address on Sunrise Boulevard East in Puyallup. Local homeowners may want to note the deadlines for curing default and the available state foreclosure counseling resources outlined in the notice.
