• Puyallup artists! Help the city beautify its traffic signal cabinets (kiro7.com) — Puyallup is recruiting local artists right now to design artwork that will wrap traffic signal cabinets at key intersections around town, with selected designs earning a $500 stipend. Eligible artists must live within the Puyallup School District and apply online by Friday, October 23, 2026, with designs reflecting local themes like the Washington State Fair, Mount Rainier, daffodils, downtown heritage, or the Puyallup Tribe.
   

• Toys R Us coming back to three Western WA locations (tri-cityherald.com) — Puyallup shoppers will soon see a new 5,000‑square‑foot Toys R Us open at South Hill Mall as part of the brand's national comeback this October. The store, much smaller than the old 31,000‑square‑foot version, will feature toys plus spaces for events and content creation, with a one‑year lease that could extend depending on holiday season performance.
   

• USA TODAY Sports Super 15 West region football rankings, Week 7 (usatoday.com) — Puyallup High's football team is being hailed as the top squad in Washington after a 72-point explosion last week and a 4-0 start, earning them a spot in USA TODAY's Super 15 West rankings. Local fans can now look ahead to Thursday's road matchup at Rogers, where the Vikings will try to keep their high-scoring streak alive.
