• Caught on camera: The debate over Flock Safety hits the streets of Pierce County (thenewstribune.com) — Puyallup's network of 43 Flock license-plate cameras is quietly tracking vehicles around town, helping police find stolen cars and suspects but alarming residents who worry about privacy and transparency. City leaders approved the system with little public debate, and now, as state rules tighten and the contract is renegotiated, locals are pressing for clearer information, public meetings, and possibly an end to the cameras altogether.
• Updated: Police find 71-year-old man who went missing in Puyallup (thenewstribune.com) — Police say 71-year-old Frederick Douglas, last seen driving west on River Road East from 20th Street in Puyallup on Monday, has now been safely located. Authorities had issued a Silver Alert, warning that his disappearance posed a credible threat to his health and safety, and shared his description and vehicle details to enlist help from drivers in the Puyallup area.
• Health department recommends rabies treatment for people tied to Puyallup school bat sightings (king5.com) — Bats have been found multiple times inside a Puyallup school building, leading the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department to recommend rabies treatment for a staff member and one student with possible exposure. District officials say the school remains safe and are working with pest-control experts this weekend to seal entry points, but some parents are uneasy and have already pulled children from class.
