The Puyallup School District and health officials are urging families to ensure children avoid touching bats and to contact healthcare providers if any possible contact is reported.
   

• He went to trial over Puyallup-area shooting, then didn't show up for verdict (thenewstribune.com) — A man has been convicted of first- and second-degree assault for firing multiple shots at two men outside his girlfriend's Puyallup-area home, but he failed to appear in court when the verdict was read. Pierce County jurors found he intended great bodily harm, and a warrant is now out for his arrest while authorities continue looking for him.
