Puyallup Historical Hatchery Foundation - closer to new Educational Center for all!

The Puyallup Historical Hatchery Foundation has been quite busy since it was created in July 2012 to help the little Puyallup Hatchery!

Our 501c(3) status has been received, making it official that we are now a non-profit Foundation and in the past month we signed a five year, renewable working agreement with the Department of Fish and Wildlife to proceed with opportunties to help at the hatchery!

Our next step is to create a public Educational Center on site using one side of the duplex which has been vacant for several years.  A group showed up last Saturday to hang the banner indicating it is coming soon!  (www.facebook.com/puyalluphistoricalhatcheryfoundation )

Several companies have begun to help with donations!  The Mukleshoot Tribe donated $5000 which was spent on replacing pond nets to protect the young fish.  Corliss Sand and Gravel jumped right in next.  The gravel they brought and spread has filled the big pot holes out front of the hatchery building, making it really nice for the public.  BlueSky Landscaping is working with us to provide a beautiful new entrance for the Educational Center.  Lowes has volunteered time and money to help with the new ADA ramp and some building supplies!

The new Educational Center will be open to the public, for teachers, children, and visitors.  It will contain displays and a short video film to come in and enjoy.
