Blindfolded Puyallup Police Will Play 'Beep Ball' Team
Beep ball is baseball for the visually impaired. Puyallup police will face off against the local pro beep ball team on Saturday.
PUYALLUP, WA - Puyallup police will play baseball against a local pro team on Saturday. But there's one catch: the officers will all be blindfolded.
That's because the police will be playing beep ball, or beep baseball, which is a modified form of the game for the visually impaired. Puyallup police will be playing the Tacoma Tide, the local beep ball pro team.
In beep ball, players use the sound of a (naturally) beeping ball for hitting and catching. The bases are soft pillars that buzz, helping players steer toward them.
