Football: Rogers comes away with 14-7 win over Monroe to advance to state playoffs

It was the Rogers Rams who came up on top of the defensive battle that ensued Friday night in Monroe, handing the Bearcats a 14-7 loss. The Rams got on the board in the 2nd quarter when quarterback Grayson Madland found target Andrew Nelson for an 8 yard touchdown connection. Monroe countered with a 1 yard run by Gabe Moore to tie the game at 7 heading into the half. The final score of the game came late in the 3rd quarter, when Rogers' LeGrant Pegram took a punt return 95 yards to the house to finalize the 14-7 Ram victory over Monroe.
