The fallen soldier will be honored at the event.

PUYALLUP, WA - The community will gather on July 5 to dedicate two chess tables to United States Army Staff Sergeant Bryan Black who was killed in Niger along with three other members of his Special Forces team. Black was a Puyallup High School graduate who spent much of his high school years competing in chess tournament and was even ranked second in the country.
He brought the state championship home to Puyallup in 1999 and won the Washington Junior Open the following year.
The ceremony will be July 5 at 6 p.m. in Pioneer Park and will be preceded by a concert by the 562nd Air Force Band. The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will feature remarks by United States Congressman Denny Heck.
