Downed Utility Pole Closes Meridian In Edgewood For 12 Hours
A tree fell near the intersection of Meridian and 24th Street East in Edgewood during Thursday's storm.

EDGEWOOD, WA - Expect Meridian Avenue East - also called SR 161 - to be closed in the Edgewood area for at least 12 hours. A large tree brought down an entire telephone pole near that intersection, which is near the Edgewood city building.
More than 6,000 people in the Edgewood area between Sumner and SR-18 were without power Thursday night. A storm called "the big dark" was bringing heavy rain and wind to the entire Puget Sound region. The wind is expected to taper off late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.
