PUYALLUP, WA — The City of Puyallup is celebrating after a pair of ducklings were successfully rescued from a storm drain.

The city says that on Sunday, someone reported a mother duck who was having some trouble and appeared to be in distress at the Northwood Apartments on Pacific Avenue. Ladder 61 with Central Pierce Fire & Rescue was deployed to check on the duck, and quickly found the source of her issue: two baby ducklings trapped in a nearby storm drain.

Rescuers pulled off the storm drain's grating, and carefully got the baby ducks to safety. They have since been reunited with their mother.
