Burien Deputy In Fatal Fife Crash Was Involved In Shooting Of Tommy Le
The crash happened early Friday morning along Pacific Highway in Fife.

FIFE, WA - A pedestrian was hit by a Burien police deputy's patrol car and a second car and killed along Pacific Highway in Fife early Friday morning. The Burien officer hit the pedestrian first, and then another vehicle hit the pedestrian. The Burien officer involved in the crash was also involved in a deadly shooting of suspect Tommy Le on June 13 in Burien, according to the King County Sheriff's Office.
The accident happened along the 2400 block of Pacific Highway, which is a heavily commercial area. There are sidewalks along both sides of the street. Fife police are investigating the crash.
The Burien police department is a division of the King County Sheriff's Office. The Fife police department is investigating the accident, and the involved deputy is on administrative leave. The sheriff's office released a statement about the crash:

The involved deputy was the same deputy involved in a fatal shooting in Burien on June 13th. After the shooting, he attended a critical incident stress debriefing and met with a with a mental health professional. Finally, he saw a departmentally approved psychologist who approved his return to work, which occurred June 30th.
