Edgewood Woman Injured In Head-On Crash Near JBLM

The 33-year-old woman veered into oncoming traffic, according to Washington State Patrol.

ROY, WA - An Edgewood woman was injured Saturday evening in a serious crash near the East Gate entrance to Joint Base Lewis-McChord. According to state patrol, the woman accidentally veered into oncoming traffic.

Close to 3:15 p.m., Jacqueline Drzemala was heading southbound on SR 507. According to state patrol, she tried to pass a vehicle on the right, but went too far and left the roadway. Trying to correct the error, she drove across both southbound lanes and into the northbound lanes, police said.

She hit a car driven by Casey Stowe, 22, of Spanaway. Both Stowe and his passenger, Melanie Miles, 19, were injured and taken to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment. Drzemala was taken to Madigan Hospital.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to state patrol.
