World Famous Ragtime Pianist Bob Milne Returns to Enumclaw

He’s a musical genius, an acclaimed pianist, who performs all over this nation as well as abroad. Yet the little town of Enumclaw is one of his regular stops. He is the sensational Bob Milne and he’s coming back once again to perform live at the Historic Chalet Theater.  The show is being presented by the Chalet Arts Showcase Theater (CAST) on Sunday, June 2^nd at 2:00 p.m.

One of the world’s greatest ragtime and boogie-woogie musicians, Milne plays over 200 concerts a year crisscrossing North America three times in the process. The Examiner-Banner in Gravenhurst, Ontario states the obvious: "Bob Milne is regarded as the finest ragtime and boogie-woogie pianist on this planet."  

Milne is a more than a piano player; he’s a witty entertainer who amuses, amazes and astonishes his audiences with stories and piano antics. He performs one-of-a-kind original compositions in a honky-tonk style and single-handedly can sound like a full house band. "The audience definitely get their money's worth, listening to one man who sounds more like two or three people." writes the Canyon Courier, Evergreen, Colorado.

So amazing are Milne’s talents he was filmed and documented for future generations in 2004 during three days of interviews at the Library of Congress, and was declared a “National Treasure” at the conclusion. A PBS film crew was assigned to follow Milne around for a year to make a real-life documentary about his incredible musical genius. The documentary can be viewed on You Tube. The crew witnessed his photographic memory of music and his uncanny ability to distinctly hear four different pieces of music at one time and repeat the notes precisely as they were played. He can play two musical scores at the same time, and often demonstrates this in his concerts, one with the right hand, and the other with the left.

His keyboard mastery is legendary. Japan made Milne an honorary citizen following his ground-breaking ragtime tour in 2000. He has performed at the White House. Currently he is finishing his first opera. Don’t miss him.
