Flood Warning Issued For Puyallup River Area
Record-breaking rainfall is expected to result in flooding for parts of Pierce County.

PUYALLUP, WA - The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Puyallup River. The warning goes into effect late Saturday night and ends Sunday afternoon. The river is expected to flood from Orting downstream to McMillan and Sumner.
Flood waters are expected to inundate roads, residential areas, and pasture lands, according to the National Weather Service. They warn not to drive through flood waters as this is what leads to the most flood-related deaths in the state.
Flood warnings were also issued for far eastern parts of King County and Lewis County.

The Puget Sound region has seen record-breaking rainfall totals this week. The National Weather Service reported that Seattle's previous record of 1.29" in 1963 was broken yesterday with 1.33" of rainfall. Parts of Pierce County have been inundated with 2.4".
For the month, rainfall totals are already 129% over the average with 4.49".
