Forum on the public's right to access government records

When gov't officials use personal communications devices for agency business, what does that mean for public access to records?

In a free public forum at Pierce College in Puyallup, an expert panel will fuel the discussion on securing and preserving the public’s legal right to access records of our government agencies.

Panelists Toby Nixon, Kirkland City Council and president of the Washington Coalition for Open Government; Walter Neary, former Lakewood City Council member; Jim Doherty, Municipal Research Services Center, and Kevin Yamamoto, Puyallup City Attorney, will discuss this very current issue.

Former State Auditor Brian Sonntag will introduce the program. Questions and comments from the audience are encouraged and will be moderated by the League of Women Voters of Tacoma-Pierce County.
