Illegal Pot Grow In Puyallup Shut Down By State

This is the second large illegal marijuana grow shut down in Pierce County this month.

PUYALLUP, WA - State officials raided a large illegal marijuana grow operation in southeast Puyallup recently, seizing nearly 1,200 plants and equipment used to grow cannabis.

Pierce County and Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board police served a warrant on the property at 10770 Rampart Drive East on Friday. Neighbors had been complaining since January about a strong smell of marijuana emanating from the property.

Inside, police found 1,156 plants, plus grow lights, fans, pesticides, and other equipment. The home had been wired illegally to handle the power needed for an indoor grow operation, according to state officials. The home was not licensed to grow either recreational or medicinal marijuana.
