Logger Hit By Tree In Rural Pierce County
Firefighters were attempting a high-angle rescue of an injured logger in rural Pierce County Thursday morning.

ELECTRON, WA - A logger was hit by a falling tree on Thursday morning at a logging operation in rural Pierce County east of Lake Kapowsin. According to Pierce County Firefighters, the call came in just before 9 a.m., and triggered a county-wide response.
At the scene, rescue crews found the logger injured and stranded down a hillside. Fire crews from Central Pierce, West Pierce, East Pierce, and Gig Harbor responded to the scene to assist in the rescue.
Rescue crews were able to reach the logger quickly, and treated him at the scene for minor injuries. The scene of the accident was near Kapowsin-Electron Reservoir Road and Camp 1 Road.
