Local Grocery Delivery to Puyallup, Bonney Lake, Sumner, and More

It's all about the people (and dogs!) for local personal shopper Ashley. Serving Puyallup, Bonney Lake, Sumner, Tacoma, and Lake Taps.

As a single Mother of a very busy 7 year old (and a very old dog!) it's important for Ashley Johnson to have a job that allows her a flexible schedule. Grocery delivery makes sense. It allows her to set her availability around her son’s schedule and take into account her part-time Nanny job, as well.

Ashely initially started delivering groceries for one of the big-name platforms, but quickly felt the impact of those on top living large, while the shoppers were getting shorted hard earned money. So, she decided to make the switch to the dumpling app. Ashley refers to dumpling as a “more ethical platform”, giving her the freedom to set her own hours, control her finances, and take better care of her customers. With dumpling, Ashley owns and runs her own grocery delivery business, Personal Shopping by Ashley J. She describes her business as a “necessary service in today’s society”. When asked why she loves running her own grocery delivery business, it’s obvious that it’s all about the community:

“I love building repeat relationships with customers. I love getting to know their lives (and their dogs!). And I love being able to offer someone trusted to provide this service for people I care for (elderly neighbors, fellow PTA parents, etc). Plus, I think it’s important for people to know who is coming to their door, everytime! ”

Having worked for other delivery apps, Ashley found that she wasn't able to truly serve her customers: she was forced to rush through shopping, and treat them as a job, not a person. Plus, she wasn’t able to offer the store selection or price transparency that she can with her own shopping and delivery service. By running her own business she can devote the time and attention to her customers, while providing them with extra benefits.

“I use the same skills I use to shop for my family, to get the best prices for my customers (such as the Target Cartwheel App). Also, I’m able to offer additional store options, by shopping shop local franchises like Grocery Outlet or Red Barn Market.”

Personal Shopping by Ashley J is powered by the dumpling app, which allows customers to connect with Ashley, choose any local store, and build their list through an in-app product search or by creating custom items. Customers are guaranteed top notch service from the moment they download the app, all the way through delivery. Ashley shared that she even helped one of her elderly customers salt her driveway during a snowstorm! She truly goes above and beyond.

Choosing to order from Personal Shopping by Ashley J not only ensures that you reap the benefits of Ashley’s ability to personalize your orders, her grocery shopping expertise and price transparency (you get the receipt from the store), but you also get to enjoy the warm fuzzy feeling of knowing that you’re supporting a local, small business owner.
