Local Senator Calls Anti-Trump Protests 'ugly' and 'unChristian'
"For shame!" says State Sen. Mark Miloscia of recent local anti-Donald Trump protests. Many are questioning his comments.

PUYALLUP, WA - One local state senator is very upset about the recent anti-Donald Trump protests that occurred across Puget Sound - and across the world - over the weekend.
State Sen. Mark Miloscia, R-Pacific, posted a statement on Facebook over the weekend praying for Trump's success, and called anti-Trump protesters "unChristian."
"My prayers and wishes for success go out to President Trump, as he starts his duties as our President and Commander-in-Chief. May God grant him wisdom and peace as he addresses the many problems we face. May his family also be blessed, as they support him in his new role!" he wrote.

"I also had hoped that many of President Trump's political enemies would have adopted the graciousness of the Clintons and the Obamas toward Trump and the Office of the Presidency, rather than the ugly, unAmerican, and unChristian protest activities we have seen yesterday, and now today, across our state and nation by many people I know! For Shame! For Shame!"
Miloscia's post drew scores of comments, including many who wondered what was wrong with protesting and disagreeing with Trump. However, there were scores who supported Miloscia's view of the protests.

"I'm still in the crowds making my way to the beginning of the [march] now, Mark. I [march] for the right of women, the LGBT community, people of color, those who would be without healthcare? Am I unamerican? And do you really deem me unchristian?" wrote King County Councilman Joe McDermott, a Democrat, on Saturday.
Miloscia, who was a Democrat until 2014, responded to McDermott: "Like me, you take actions from time to time, that are unChristian (sins) and are against American Values. Welcome to humanity Joe - and don't be so sensitive to feedback from people who disagree with your morality/values."
There were protests around Puget Sound on Saturday organized under the Women's March banner. The largest took place in Seattle, drawing an estimated 175,000 people, which is thought to be the largest political march in the city's history.
