Man Survives 80 MPH Crash, Dies On Way To Hospital: Police
The crash happened Saturday evening along 304th Street East south of Graham.

GRAHAM, WA - A 33-year-old man died after crashing his SUV into a telephone pole Saturday night, police are reporting. When police arrived at the scene, they found the SUV's speedometer stuck at 80 MPH, leading them to believe that's hows fast he was going when he crashed.
The crash happened just before 7 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of 304th Street East and Webster Road East, which is in an unincorporated area south of Graham. The driver was headed west on 304th when he clipped a Jeep and lost control of his Chevrolet Suburban. The SUV careened into a drainage ditch and then hit a telephone pole, according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office.
The driver was thrown from the vehicle but was conscious and talking when authorities arrived. The sheriff's office even described the man as "combative." However, he died in the ambulance en route to the hospital.

Sheriff's deputies reported the driver smelled of alcohol after the crash and had two prior DUI convictions.
