Memorials For Teen Who Died After Fall From Puyallup Bridge Established
Jordon Gish, 16, died early Thursday morning after accidentally jumping off the side of the North Meridian bridge.
PUYALLUP, WA - Two memorials have been established for the local teen who died after accidentally jumping off a bridge in Puyallup last week. Jordon Gish, 16, fell about 30 feet off the North Meridian Bridge early Thursday morning. Police believe Gish leaped over a railing, mistakenly thinking that the north and southbound lanes of the bridge were connected.
One GoFundMe fundraiser set up on behalf of Gish's father, Michael, had already reached its $3,000 goal, but was still accepting donations.
Dan Dillon, Gish's stepfather, is seeking to raise $4,000 for a funeral and memorial. As of Tuesday morning, he had raised over $3,000.

"Yesterday my wife received the call no parent ever wants to receive. My step son Jordon passed away in a unexpected tragic accident," Dillon wrote on the memorial page. "[H]e had just turned 16; he leaves behind his mom Colleen his dad Mike and step parent Ashley and myself and brothers and sisters . This is for a funeral-memorial. Thank you all for your love and support During this painful time it's much appreciated."
The northbound and southbound lanes across the North Meridian bridge are separated by a wide gap. Gish ended up falling onto a sandbar along the Puyallup River. Police and firefighters gave Gish medical assistance at the scene, but he was pronounced dead later at Good Samaritan Hospital.
