New Chess Tables At Pioneer Park To Honor Bryan Black

To honor him and share his love of the game, the Puyallup and chess communities raised funds to install two permanent chess tables.

From the City of Puyallup: Bryan Black was a chess whiz from a young age. To honor him and share his love of the game, the Puyallup and chess communities raised funds to install two permanent chess tables in Pioneer Park. The tables will be dedicated at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 5th prior to the evening's "Concerts in the Park" performance by the U.S. Air National Guard Band. All members of the public are invited to attend the dedication ceremony, and perhaps even play a game!
