Nurse In Good Samaritan Hepatitis C Scare Arrested
The hospital said the nurse may have infected two people with Hepatitis C, and put thousands more at risk.

PUYALLUP, WA - A nurse who allegedly may have infected two Good Samaritan Hospital patients with Hepatitis C has been arrested by Puyallup police. The nurse was allegedly a drug user, and had stolen pain medicine intended for patients.
Cora J. Weberg, 31, was booked into the Pierce County Jail early Friday morning on two counts of second-degree assault, according to court records. Weberg is registered as a nurse in Oregon. According to state records, she attained her nursing license in 2012, and her license was most recently renewed in 2016. The license indicates she lives in Auburn.
Police said she was arrested because she made plans to travel outside the U.S.

Good Samaritan Hospital has notified about 2,600 past ER patients that they should get tested for Hepatitis C after possibly coming into contact with the nurse. She has been fired from her job. More than 50,000 visited the Good Sam ER during the period the nurse worked there. The hospital has said patients who do not get a letter should not worry about getting tested.
The department will hold a press conference at 10:30 a.m. Friday to release more information about the case.
