PUYALLUP, WA - Domestic Violence is not only a serious issue, it’s a global one, and in Pierce County it’s more common than you might think.

According to the City of Tacoma, and the CDC’s National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS), “nearly 1 in 5 adult women, and 1 in 7 adult men, report having experienced severe physical violence from an intimate partner in their lifetime.”

Fortunately, our communities are not left powerless. Through increasing awareness, expanding education, and by small and simple efforts to reach out in love, great changes can come into the hearts and homes of the many good people of Pierce County; greater understanding can develop, and voices can be heard.
