Police Chase Mustang Into Golden Horeshoe Mobile Home Park

The most ironic police chase in history occurred in Pierce County this week involving a Ford Mustang and a local RV park.

GRAHAM, WA - In what was perhaps the most ironic police chase in history, Pierce County deputies pursued a suspect driving a Ford Mustang into the Golden Horseshoe mobile home park in Graham on Christmas night.

The chase began just before midnight Monday near the intersection of 176th Street East and Canyon Road in Frederickson. While deputies were helping state police with a traffic stop, one deputy noticed a yellow Ford Mustang drive by with a busted headlight.

The deputy began following the Mustang and pulled the driver over. The driver apparently tried to give them a fake name and license. When the deputy started questioning the driver about the fake ID, he decided to just take off.

And then it was off to the races.

The driver of the Mustang turned down Canyon Road hitting speeds of about 100 MPH, according to police. The driver made it about 7 miles south when he decided to gallop into the Golden Horseshoe park. With snow on the ground, the rear-wheel drive Mustang bucked and slid all over the place until police used an pursuit intervention technique to rastle the car into submission.

But the chase wasn't over. The suspect took off running through the snow. Deputies caught up to him a few paces away and shot him with a Taser.

Once under arrest, the 31-year-old suspect told police he fled because he had a felony warrant. Police ended up stabling him in the Pierce County jail on charges of eluding, driving with a suspended license, and making false statements.
