Puyallup Family Hurt In Deadly Christmas Eve Crash

The crash happened Sunday afternoon along SR 507. Roads were slick as snow began to fall in the area.

PUYALLUP, WA - Four members of a Puyallup family were involved in a deadly Christmas Eve car crash along SR 507 in Roy. A 62-year-old Graham woman riding in the front passenger seat died in the crash.

The crash happened just after 3:30 p.m. near where SR 507 intersects with East Gate Road. According to Washington State Patrol, Stacie Starkey, 36, of Puyallup, was driving southbound when she crossed into the northbound lanes, then left the road and hit a tree.

Three children from Puyallup - ages 6, 12, and 15 - were also in the car. Starkey and the children were all injured and taken to Madigan Army Medical Center. Suzie Carrier died at the scene, according to Washington State Patrol.

Police are still investigating what caused the crash, but it was lightly snowing in the area at the time. SR 507 was blocked for about 3 hours after the crash.
