Puyallup Police Resolve Standoff With Armed Man
The tense Saturday night situation involved a suicidal man with a firearm.

PUYALLUP, WA - Police safely resolved a situation involving a suicidal man with a firearm after a tense standoff Saturday night. The response to the initial call was in the 300-500 block of 10th Ave. SE. Police said the man was "armed and not cooperative" and warned local residents to stay in their homes.
There were many officers and SWAT team members at the scene during the several-hour incident, which closed down 10th Avenue SE. Police talked to the man and eventually safely resolved the situation. The man was detained and taken to a local hospital. The road was reopened around 11 p.m.
The location is a couple of blocks south of Kalles Junior High School.
