My name is Katherine and truly love my job!! I’ve been teaching preschool for 7 years and with each year that passes I am continually amazed by just how much children can learn.

At Cornerstone Learning Center, all children are encouraged to explore their world through hands-on activities which will establish a strong sense of personal ownership in their experiences and establish the essential foundation for successful future learning. These young learners will master how letters are formed correctly as well as how we use the sounds of each. They will build on that growing knowledge base of letters while developing reading skills that will enable them to unlock the mysteries of the written word and to become great and enthusiastic readers. They will also be learning math and reasoning skills that will help them discover the amazing power of numbers, how they are utilized and manipulated to count, group and add. Tapping into their natural curiosity they will learn to observe their world through the eyes of a scientist as they use an inquiry based learning approach using everyday objects while they apply the scientific method.

Cornerstone Learning Center opened its doors in 2007 and with each year that passes I am continually amazed by just how much these children can learn!! I received my formal education at Washington State University where I was taught many different theories and practical applications of education, I was granted my certificate to teach in Washington State and just recently received my Highly Qualified Status from the OSPI.

Classes begin on October 6, 2014 and I am Currently enrolling 3-5 year olds for the 2014-2015 preschool year

The Pre-K program is an excellent option those for young 5 year olds with summer or September birthdays who are not yet ready for Kindergarten, it is an authentic educational experience that will give your child a headstart preparing for the rigors of full-time/full-day school.
