Puyallup School Break-In Shared On Snapchat: Police

One of the people who saw the Snapchat messages called police.

PUYALLUP, WA - Social media and alcohol just don't mix. On Sunday night, a group of kids apparently broke into a Puyallup middle school while drinking and then shared the escapade on Snapchat, according to police.

On Sunday night, someone called police to report receiving Snapchat messages showing a group of kids inside a portable unit at Aylen Junior High. Unlike an email or text, Snapchat messages are encrypted and disappear soon after they are sent - that means there's no evidence left behind.

When police arrived, they found a window open on one of the portables. But there was no one inside either the portable or the main school building.

Soon after, police located a group of kids across West Pioneer at Maplewood Elementary School. The police returned the kids to their parents. However, police are forwarding minor-in-possession charges to the prosecutors office. There's no app to make intoxication disappear - yet.
