Puyallup Woman Gets Stolen Kindle Back After Writing To Thief

The pen is mightier than a sword: a local woman's stolen Kindle was returned after she published a message on the device.

PUYALLUP, WA - Most people use Kindle Fire readers to read their favorite books. But a message published on a Kindle by a local woman ended up resolving a crime.

The woman's Kindle Fire was stolen from her car in Puyallup sometime on Saturday afternoon. The woman was able to use a security feature on the device to send a message that would appear on the screen, according to Puyallup police. The message notified anyone who looked at the screen that the device was stolen.

The message asked anyone in possession of the device to return it to the Jiffy Lube along South Meridian - and the message worked.
