Puyallup Woman Starts Cheesecake-On-A-Stick Company

She started Tacoma Cheesecake, whose products now appear in shops across the Northwest.

PUYALLUP, WA - Twenty years ago, then Tacoma police officer Danelle Hillman would make cheesecake to relieve the stress of her job. Now she's converted her passion into a successful business. Along with a kiosk in South Hill Mall, Tacoma Cheesecake's frozen treats can be found in more than 120 locations across the Northwest.

"Tacoma Cheesecake was created to help fulfill God's plan for my life," Hillman said on the company's website. "I'm a mommy, that's what God put me on earth to do. But my job had me spending hours away from my daughter in the big city, so I went back to a dream that I had pursued before and dropped."

Tacoma's Cheesecake signature product is the irresistible combination of cheesecake covered in chocolate. Their treats are handmade using a recipe that's remained a secret for decades. They carry three flavors - traditional, double chocolate and peanut butter bliss.
