Puyallup's Farmers Market Will Go Ahead, With Restrictions
The Puyallup Farmers Market will return Saturday, albeit with some restrictions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

PUYALLUP — Despite the coronavirus pandemic, city leaders have cleared the Puyallup Farmers Market to return Saturday, but with a few important safety restrictions.
The market will be held Saturday May 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the South Hill Mall's southwest parking lot, outside the former Sears building. Right now the city has only authorized the one market event Saturday, which will serve as a trial run for future markets.
As every year, the market will sell locally grown foods and crafts made by community members, but visitors will be restricted to try and limit the spread of the coronavirus.
First, customers are asked to wear a face mask or other face covering when visiting the market. Customers will also be asked to limit their time at the market, to do their shopping quickly and leave.

Market visitors are also asked to come alone: there's limited space and the market says they can't afford families or groups creating crowds. The Puyallup Farmers Market will also be using social media to share when the market is crowded, so visitors know when to come and when to stay away.
The market has also been limited to just 60 vendors to allow enough space for social distancing.
