Clerk Shot During Tacoma Robbery, Suspect On The Run

Tacoma Police are searching for the man who shot a convenience store employee during a robbery Wednesday morning.

TACOMA, WA — An armed man shot a convenience store clerk during a robbery at Tacoma 7-Eleven Wednesday morning, according to police. Investigators said the suspect robbed the convenience store on South Tacoma Way shortly before 4:30 a.m. According to Tacoma Police, the clerk handed over money, but the man demanded more and shot the clerk for taking too long to open the drawer.

The victim, a 30-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police described the suspect as a man, between 6 feet 1 inch and 6 feet 3 inches tall, wearing dark clothing, a mask and gloves. He was last seen running from the scene, headed east on South 74th Street. Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities.
