Scholarship Opportunity For Puyallup Students

The City of Puyallup will nominate a local student to compete for a "Center for Quality Communities Scholarship."

The City of Puyallup will nominate a local student to compete for a “Center for Quality Communities Scholarship” offered by the Association of Washington Cities (AWC).

Up to six students in Washington state will each be awarded a $1,500 scholarship in recognition of their involvement with their community and/or local city government. Completed applications are due at 5:00 pm on Thursday, February 20th. Application materials and instructions can be found at AWC Scholarship.

Students competing to be nominated for this scholarship must:

  • Reside or attend school in the Puyallup School District;
  • Graduate from high school, home school or receive a GED in spring/summer 2020;
  • Continue education at an accredited post-secondary institution in the 2020-2021 academic year on a half-time or more basis; and
  • Have been involved with a city government or with a community/school leadership activity.

The AWC Center for Quality Communities promotes municipal leadership development and civic engagement. The Center’s goal is to develop a broad public understanding of how cities and towns work to provide needed services and programs. The Center believes in educating student leaders who care about their communities.
