Puyallup Schools have started today and Puyallup Police are closely monitoring those school zones! Everyone is reminded to mind the speed limits on all City streets but especially so in the school zones where the speed limit is 20 mph (RCW 46.61.440). These speed zones must be observed in all marked playground and school areas as well as 300 ft on either side of the crosswalk areas. A failure to obey can result in a ticket starting at $189 for up to 5 mph over the limit, $210 for 6-10 mph over and $ 271 for 11-15 mph over and it goes up from there!
School zones are in effect: Mondays from 9:25-10am; 11:58am-12:18pm; 21:48-1:08pm: and 3:06-3:41pm. Tuesdays thru Friday from 8:25-9am; 11:28-11:48am; 12:18-12:38pm; and 3:06-3:41pm. Please watch for the school zone signs, flashing lights as well as the student and adult crosswalk patrols in and around the City's schools!
