Series Of Pellet Gun Shootings Hit Puyallup: Police
At least six BB or pellet gun shootings were reported across the city last week, Puyallup police say.
PUYALLUP, WA - Puyallup police last week responded to six reports of property being damaged by either BBs or pellets in multiple locations across the city.
No one was shot by the projectiles. It appeared that the vandals behind the shootings exclusively targeted vehicle windows. The damage was done in five locations according to police: the 700 block of 3rd Avenue Northwest; two incidents along the 1100 block of 21st Street Northwest; the 600 block of West Pioneer; the 1700 block of West Stewart; and the 300 block of 12th Street Northwest.

The victim’s vehicle, was entered by an unknown person after smashing the front passenger side window. Items taken included a black computer bag, valued at approximately $60. The computer bag contained miscellaneous paperwork and textbooks and were left on the front passenger floorboard.

A female was contacted after she was observed riding a black mountain bicycle in the City of Puyallup without a helmet, reflector and headlamp during the hours of darkness. A record check revealed multiple warrants to include a Domestic Violence warrant out of Lakewood. She was booked.

A male driver was stopped for failure to make a complete stop at a stop sign. He performed SFST’s and was ultimately arrested for DUI. The driver provided two separate breath samples, both almost double the legal limit. As a side note, the male was a juvenile.

A female driver was stopped for failure to make a complete stop at a stop sign. She performed SFST’s and was ultimately arrested for DUI. She provided breath samples all over .15. She was booked.

900 S. Meridian
A female driver was stopped for speeding. The driver performed SFST’s and was ultimately arrested for DUI. The BAC results of .043 were not consistent with her level of intoxication and a blood warrant was obtained. She was booked.

Victim received a text message from a phone number out of Georgia that stated I have been hired to kill you. There was no other information. The victim recently joined “seekingarrangements.com” which is a website where females looking for “Sugar Daddies”. The victim has no idea who would want to harm her. Report to detectives.

Sometime overnight someone stole the victim’s 2005 Ford Econoline. The vehicle was entered as stolen.

57-year-old male was contacted for jumping over a fence into someone’s yard. He claimed he was doing work for the homeowner. Probable cause could not be developed for trespassing. He was booked on a DUI warrant.

23rd and S Meridian
25-year-old female was contacted after being observed walking in the middle of S Meridian. It was discovered that she had stolen mail and attempted to conceal it in another mailbox before she was contacted. Shockingly she also lied about her name (apparently she doesn’t follow the Blotter and know this will result in a trip to the pokey). The mail was returned to its rightful owner. She was booked.

Between 10am-1pm someone broke into the victim’s vehicle and stole her purse. The suspect used the victim’s credit card at Fred Meyer fuel pumps. The transaction was not caught on video. Report to detectives.

A male was located with a female in violation of a no contact order. He was booked.

Macy’s - 3500 S. Meridian
A female was observed by loss prevention selecting merchandise, which she concealed on her person prior to leaving the store without offering payment. She was detained by loss prevention and later arrested. She was ultimately cited and released due to jail space.

Units responded to a possible physical DV with the male fleeing in a vehicle. An officer located the suspect/driver and detained him. The assault was unfounded, but the male was DWLS and had a DUI warrant. He was booked.

1200blk 39th Ave SW
Between 4-4:30pm on Friday someone broke into the victim’s vehicle and stole his laptop, cellphone and credit card. The credit card was used by the suspect to purchase fuel at Safeway in Puyallup county. The victim had the serial number to the cellphone and it was entered as stolen.

28-year-old female selected merchandise inside the store and then used a receipt to return the items. She was booked.

A female attempted to skip out on paying for a cab that dropped her off at Cheers Bar & Grill. She was contacted inside the bar where a records check revealed she had a Domestic Violence related warrant for her arrest. She was booked.
Motor Vehicle Recovery 1907800147
3610 S. Meridian
An officer was conducting a security check of the South Hill mall when he was alerted by his License Plate Reader (LPR) that he had just passed a possible, abandoned stolen vehicle. Records confirmed, it was a confirmed stolen vehicle. The vehicle was searched to include dusting for prints. The registered owner was contacted, and the vehicle was removed as stolen.

A male driver was stopped as his vehicle did not have any rear taillights or headlights on as required by law when it is dark outside. He refused SFST’s and was ultimately arrested for DUI. Officers observed suspected narcotics within the vehicle as it was later impounded to the city shops for a search warrant, which will be executed. He provided breath samples all above the legal limit.
DUI emphasis
We hosted our annual St. Patrick's Day DUI Emphasis on Saturday March 16th. The emphasis included officers from Puyallup, Fircrest, Tacoma, Sumner, Fife, Pierce County Deputies, and WSP Troopers. In total, the task force arrested 11 impaired drivers, made 163 traffic stops and issued many infractions. Two blood warrants were obtained and served. Several warrant and DWLS arrests were made as well.
