Small Plane Crashes Near South Hill Target, Pilot Hospitalized
Medics rushed one person to the emergency room after a small plane crashed in the parking lot of a Target near Thun Field.

PUYALLUP, WA — A small plane crashed into the parking lot of a South Hill Target Thursday afternoon, hitting a car and flipping upside down. According to Central Pierce Fire & Rescue, the aircraft's pilot was rushed to the emergency room with minor injuries, no one else was aboard the plane at the time of the crash.
The pilot has minor injuries. Thankfully no injuries on the ground. Crews are standing by for fire control because of the fuel, the @PierceSheriff is in charge of the scene.

Firefighters say the crash has caused a large amount of fuel to spill out of the plane and into the parking lot. They are attempting to clean the fuel and the wreckage, but in the meantime are asking shoppers to avoid the area.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department has been called to investigate the crash, and have confirmed that the plane took off from Thun Field shortly before the crash landing.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
