Suspect Punches Officer, Gets Tased

PUYALLUP, WA - Police responded to a call regarding a man and a woman fighting that led to an officer being punched in the jaw. Police initially arrived at the 31000 block of E. Main Ave. but the man and woman fled when they saw police. Later, the two were apparently fighting at the EZ Mini-Mart at 924 E. Main Ave.

The man lied about his name and resisted arrest, according to police. While officers were attempting to arrest him, his girlfriend fought to get closer to him and punched an officer in the jaw. A sergeant was also struck in the back.

Police reported the woman fled but was Tased and booked at Pierce County Jail. The man was booked at Puyallup Jail. The pair were brought up on multiple charges for resisting arrest, providing false statements and assault.
