Teen Dies After Fall Off Puyallup Bridge: Police
The 16-year-old fell 30 feet off the North Meridian Bridge early Thursday morning.

PUYALLUP, WA - A 16-year-old boy died after falling 30 feet off the North Meridian bridge over the Puyallup River in what police are calling a "tragic accident." The accident happened just before 4 a.m. Thursday, according to police. The teen landed on a sand bar below the bridge.
According to police, the teen was walking with a 15-year-old across the bridge when he jumped over railing - possibly unaware that there's a gap separating the north and southbound lanes of the bridge.
Police and firefighters began life-saving measures at the scene, but the teen was pronounced dead at Good Samaritan Hospital.
