Teens Spits On Cop Car, Escorted Home: Puyallup Police Blotter

Puyallup police released the blotter from over the weekend, and it includes events like a machete robbery and a teen spitting on a cop car.

PUYALLUP, WA - Puyallup police have released the crime blotter from over the weekend. It includes incidents ranging from a machete robbery to an angry 13-year-old spitting on a cop car. Here are all the incidents police reported:

Sunday, April 30

Shots fired
400 blk 3rd St NE
The victim had heard what he thought were gunshots at about 0120 hours on 04/24 but left on a trip a few hours later. After the gunshots, victim heard a vehicle leaving at a high rate of speed.
When he returned he found that there was a bullet lodged in the ceiling after having traveled through a double pane window, several interior walls and ricocheted off the cover of a piano. A spent .40 casing was located in the road near the house.

Vehicle Prowl Arrest
300 blk 31 AVE SE
A caller reported seeing a subject enter a vehicle in the parking lot and take something while the vehicle owner was asleep. An officer located a male in the lot. He ended up confessing to stealing the victim’s phone. He was also in possession of several shaved keys from different makes of vehicles. At the jail he stated that he had swallowed a large amount of heroin and prescription drugs. He was transported to hospital and they ended up admitting him based on the information he provided them. Hospital security thought that he also matched the description of a subject that stole a truck from their parking garage in the past few weeks.

200 blk Valley Ave NW
Units responded to a fire in this area. Officers contacted a male who had warrants and was intoxicated. The fire was minor and put out. He was booked. We always appreciate warrant subjects sending up smoke signals so we can find them and arrest them on their warrants.

No Contact Order Violation
900 blk 9th St SE
A male and female got into an argument over personal property. The female was the protected person and the male fled prior to police arrival. Citation to be mailed by the court.

Trailer Theft
2700 blk 5th St SE
Sometime overnight the victim’s enclosed trailer was stolen. There are no suspects. Report to Detectives.

100 blk 4th Ave SE
A 13 year old was contacted after he yelled obscenities and tried to spit on a patrol vehicle. He was returned home.

Fraud 1712001577
1400 blk E Main
Victim reported that he cashed a check for an unknown female and gave her 400 dollars. The check was fraudulent. Report to Detectives.

Assault 4th DV
2100 blk 26th Ave SE
A wife assaulted her husband by punching him in the face several times. They were arguing about the husband's attitude. The wife fled and an officer located her trying to escape in a taxi during a K9 track.

Burglary 1712001829
2100 blk N Meridian
Between 1700 and 2230 someone entered the victim’s room and stole his work boots and coat. It is believed that the suspect might have entered through an open window. Report to Detectives.

Saturday, April 29

Vehicle Prowl
3300 blk 8th Ave SE
Between 0930-1130, the victim’s driver’s side window was smashed out. Suspect(s) gained entry to his vehicle, broke into the locked center console and stole his wallet.

Accidental Discharge
1100 blk S Meridian ST
A male had just left the gun show when he began to reload his handgun near his truck. He accidentally discharged the weapon while attempting to holster it, with the shot going through one leg and into the other.

Attempted Robbery 1st
500 blk N Levee
A male reported that another male attempted to rob him of his tent and cell phone with a machete. The victim began to dial 911 at which point the suspect fled. The victim didn’t know the suspect's last name, but the possible info was provided by the Community Outreach Officer. The victim identified the suspect from a line-up.

Trespass & Warrants
1100 blk N Meridian ST
A male was observed in and out of the store in violation of a confirmed trespass order. He had a couple of Puyallup warrants as well and was arrested.

Malicious Mischief 3rd & Resisting Arrest
200 blk North Meridian
A male, who as severely intoxicated, decided to attack a marked private company security car stopped at the stop light at Meeker and Meridian. The suspect slammed his fist into, and dented the hood of their new car and then punched the driver’s window and nearly broke it. The security guard in the car pepper sprayed the suspect who continued his unruly behavior and rolled around South Meridian feeling the effects of his dose of capsicum. Can feel the burn just writing this!

Minor Possession of Alcohol X3
1200 blk 4th Ave SE
Units received reports of a fight inside a residence with 10+ involved. Units arrived to find several scattering, and others wandering the front yard. Subjects then closed the doors, blinds, and covered other windows with blankets before shutting off all the lights. Party Patrol who happened to be out looking for juvenile parties in the county was summonsed to the house. A 19, 18, and 17 were all taken into custody outside the house before PIP arrived. No other juveniles or underage intoxicated subjects were located within the home by PIP just adults over 21. Two of the subjects were arrested by PPD just five days prior for MIP and have had other calls to the house recently.

DUI Collision
15th Ave SW / 9th St SW
A female nearly made it home, but could not negotiate the corner next to her driveway and ran flat over the posted stop sign. Units contacted her and made the DUI arrest. She was drinking wine and lemon drops. The entire incident brought a whole new meaning to the saying "stop on red."

DV Assault 4th Degree
1300 blk 12th Ave NW
A brother was booked after getting into an intoxicated brawl with his adult brother at the brother’s birthday bash. Both brothers and most of the guests were all extremely intoxicated. The fight ended up in the driveway where the birthday brother received lacerated lip from impacting the driveway- heck of a birthday present. Causing brother went to jail minus cake and ice cream.
