Tips To Reduce Your Home's Carbon Footprint From Harts Services
From energy-efficient appliances to drinking tap water instead of bottled, there are a variety of things we all can do to help our world.

From Harts Services: Harts Services, a top-rated Tacoma plumbing company with a 4.9 review rating on Google, is encouraging Tacoma homeowners to lower their carbon footprints in 2019 with four tips to help make homes more carbon-neutral.
“We take a lot of pride in the Tacoma area’s clean environment and commitment to fighting climate change,” said Richard Hart, co-owner of Harts Services. “But sometimes, when looking at the big picture, it’s easy to lose sight of small but important steps we can all take in our own homes to help the planet.”
Hart encourages everyone to consider the following:

Tankless water heaters
- Tankless water heaters offer unlimited hot water, have longer lifespans and are cleaner. They also take up less space and can save up to 25 percent of the energy used by traditional heaters. Since they require fewer materials to build and use less water and energy, these water heaters are great for the environment.
Low-use fixtures

- The amount of water you use – and your utility bill – can quickly be reduced by installing low-use fixtures for toilets, shower heads and faucets.
Efficient appliances
- A washing machine with a low water consumption rating, used only when fully loaded, can make a major difference in water usage. Energy-efficient appliances may cost a little more up front but typically provide cost savings over time.
Drink from the tap
- While the previous tips are geared toward lowering water use, this is one place in the home where consumers should use more water. Tap is better for the environment than bottled water. If you have concerns about your water quality, a home water filtration system can ease those worries.
“If everyone implements only one of these measures, the collective effort can make a huge difference,” Hart said. “The beauty of small steps – if enough people are willing to take them – is that they can lead to much bigger change.”
