• Nikola Tesla STEM High near Redmond in Top 10 in U.S. News ranking (seattletimes.com) — Nikola Tesla STEM High School, just east of Redmond, has been ranked ninth nationwide in U.S. News & World Report's 2026–27 Best High Schools list, a major distinction for local students and families. The rankings also spotlight other top-performing Puget Sound schools, including Bellevue's International School and high schools in Tukwila, Seattle, and Mercer Island, based on college readiness, test performance, and graduation rates.
   

• Debra Susan (Skatula) Mason (sheridanmedia.com) — Redmond residents are invited to honor longtime art teacher Debra Mason at a memorial service on August 22 at Creekside Covenant Church in Redmond. Mason, who taught at The Bear Creek School and other local campuses, is remembered for her creative career, deep family ties, and courage through ALS while caring for both her mother and her son.
