Today's riddle: What is the difference between black eyed peas and chick peas? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Where to find u-pick pumpkin patches and farm stands (greaterseattleonthecheap.com) (greaterseattleonthecheap.com) — Redmond families can head to McMurtrey Farm this fall for a full‑blown pumpkin‑patch experience, with wagon rides, games, kettle corn, and more included in a $9 ticket from September 3 onward. The guide also rounds up dozens of other u‑pick pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and farm stands across the Seattle‑Tacoma area, with hours, prices, and tips for planning your visit.
2. Link Evening Closure Tuesday-Thursday (seattletransitblog.com) — Evening Link service from Downtown Redmond will end earlier September 15–17 as the downtown tunnel closes at 11 p.m. for maintenance, with the last 2 Line train leaving Redmond at 9:04 p.m. and shuttle buses bridging gaps near Capitol Hill and Judkins Park. Riders should check Sound Transit alerts for any last-minute changes.
3. PCC Nominations for the Labor Management advisory Committee are open! — UFCW 3000 (ufcw3000.org) — PCC workers at the Redmond store can soon nominate themselves or coworkers for new seats on the Labor Management Advisory Committee, with online nominations open September 21–25. These elected representatives help shape decisions on staffing, training, operations, and workplace improvements, and Redmond employees will both nominate and vote only within their own store.
4. Kent Police Department proposes Drone First Responder program (redmond-reporter.com) — Redmond residents may be interested that Kent Police are considering a Drone First Responder program similar to the one Redmond Police launched with Skydio in 2024. The proposal aims to speed 911 responses and reduce risky encounters, but civil liberties advocates warn about privacy and surveillance concerns. Final funding decisions will come during Kent's November budget vote.
