We are so excited to have Gwen Zierdt "weave" her way into VALA Art Center as our first Artist In Residence for 2014!In June and July, Gwen will be holding various discussions and demonstrations of her textile artwork in the VALA Art Center, 7303 164th Ave NE in Redmond Town Center.Artist Reception for Gwen Zierdt Saturday, June 7, 2014 4:30pm – 6:30pm Join us at the VALA Art Center in Redmond Town Center and enjoy light snacks, wine and Gwen's art!Gwen's textile artwork explores the relationships between technology, systems, and language through the creation of pieces that examine how we see and use information.  She utilizes handlooms and today's technology language to create her art.

Gas Station Blues™ Reappears with Luminous Lineup
Notable Musical Artists Return to Historic Shell
ISSAQUAH, Wash., July 2, 2026 – The Downtown Issaquah Association (DIA) and the Washington Blues Society (WBS) resume the hot music summer series for its 12th year.
DIA and WBS will host artists every Thursday night from July 2nd&nbsp;through August 27th from 7 to 9 pm, at the Historic Shell Station located at 232 Front Street North. The artists represent diverse backgrounds, genres, and musical styles and draw crowds from throughout Washington state.
“Gas Station Blues is one of the most popular music series in the Seattle area,” said Christina Bruning. “We are honored to attract such acclaimed artists, bringing listeners back again and again.” The series is live at Historic Shell but also streamed on DIA’s YouTube and Facebook channels.
Concert visitors to the Historic Shell often picnic in the adjacent Centennial Park with takeout from local restaurants, or they can purchase refreshments on-site from <a href="https://www.finsbistroissaquah.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Fins Bistro</a>. They bring lawn chairs, blankets, dancing shoes, and shared enthusiasm.
Performances are also live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube.
